In 2013, I joined up with a small startup to design an iOS food truck app for Seattle area. The admin app allowed truck owners to check in and post truck information and menu content to the app and the end user app showed what trucks where in the area, how long they would be there and gave visibility into their menus and menu items as well as ratings. When truck owners checked in, the app automatically set a geo fence so that they disappeared from map visibility if the truck moved out of the area. The app was built and launched in the app store, but ultimately failed due to poor adoption and lack of field marketing. The app UI was recently retrofitted for the iPhone X.
